RESEARCH COOPERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT
40 years of Research Cooperation between Sweden and Tanzania held at Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro from 08 – 09 November, 2017.
The cooperation between our countries has resulted in a big number of researchers and invaluable knowledge generated through their research in areas such as HIV, malaria, gender, climate change, GIS, energy, marine sciences, urban planning, business, reproductive and child health, archeology among others.
Gradually, the Cooperation grew with an increasing focus on developing Institutional research capacity in which research training in areas of relevance to Tanzania was key. Long term partners within the cooperation are Ardhi University, University of Dar es Salaam, Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences who have developed strong partnerships with Swedish Universities. In recent years the cooperation has incorporated COSTECH with the mission to lead Tanzanian research into the future.
