ARDHI UNIVERSITY HOSTS AN INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION PEOPLE-ENVIROMENT STUDIES (IAPS) SYMPOSIUM 2017
Ardhi University (ARU) through the Institute of Human Settlements Studies (IHSS) is hosting an International Symposium On “Knowledge for Climate-Proof Urban Development in Rapidly-Changing Environment.
The symposium was official graced by the Deputy Minister of Education Science and Technology Honorable Eng. Stella Manyanya (who was represented the Vice President of Tanzania, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan) who was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University Prof. Evaristo J. Liwa.
A three days symposium which started from 27th Sept, 2017 takes place in Dar es Salaam and attended by participants from various 16 countries aimed at discussing foresight information about sustainable urban development, impacts of climate change on specific localities and better strategies for creating adequate human habitats particularly in informal settlements.
It is also designed to integrate the knowledge of a diverse groups of actors who participate the event i.e. architects, geographers, urban planners sociologist and experts in urban studies, many come from universities, research centers and some from practitioners associated with different NGOs and CBOs from international, national development and aids agencies.
