ARU AND WFP CONDUCT A SEASONAL LIVELIHOODS PROGRAMMING (SLP) FOR TEMEKE MUNICIPALITY
Ardhi University (ARU), and The World Food Programme (WFP) conducted a Seasonal Livelihoods Programming (SLP) workshop for Temeke Municipality from Monday 11 to Friday 15 November 2019. ARU facilitated the workshop with financial support from the World Food Programme (WFP). The workshop was held at the Tanzania Episcopal Conference Centre in Kurasini.
SLP is a sub-national level, multi-stakeholder participatory process that fosters coordination and partnership at the local level, under the leadership of local governments and other partners on the ground. It is a process that aims to design, and target an integrated multi-year, multi-sector operational plan using seasonal and gender lenses.
SLP consultation intends to generate valuable information that can be used strategically to strengthen partnership and develop partnered implementation of strategies and plans and inform policies and procedures. Furthermore, the generated information can also be used operationally to strengthen programme design and rationales for multi-year interactions; enhance understanding of local livelihoods and contexts; complement government planning support coordination and capacity building efforts and inform higher planning tools
