GFM4 GRADUATION CEREMONY

Geoinformatics (GFM4) is the nine-month Diploma course which is conducted at Ardhi University in collaboration with ITC which is now the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation of the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

ITC/ARU diploma course is designed for professionals at technologist level in geo-information production organizations whose prime concern it is to execute the daily operational tasks related to the analysis, processing and dissemination of geographic data (including the coordination of digital production processes, implementation of work procedures and the supervision of groups of operators).

The course started at ARU 2003/2004 academic year.  The course receives participants from Eastern and South African countries like Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Namibia, Lesotho, D.R.C. and Tanzania.

This academic year 2016/17 GFM4 course received four participants from different organizations in different countries one from Botswana, Malawi and two from Tanzania.

ARDHI UNIVERSITY(ARU) AND NATIONAL IRRIGATION COMMISSION (NIRC) WORKSHOP

ARU and NIRC organizing the workshop on Contextualizing Smallholder Irrigation Research Project Results to the Implementation of National Irrigation Policy in Tanzania which held at DMTC – ARU.

The objectives of the workshop is Demonstration the relevance of Irrigation Productivity Project in the implementation of the Tanzania National Irrigation Policy/Act and Identify existing national platforms and linkages on irrigation.

Expected output of the project are as follows; To inform irrigation policy implementation identified or established.
