Chuo Kikuu Ardhi kwa kushirikiana na wafanyakazi wengine wa Taasisi za umma wamejumuika pamoja katika viwanja vya Chuo Kikuu Ardhi siku ya Jumamosi tarehe 14/10/2017 kufanya mashindano ya michezo mbalimbali yakiwemo mazoezi ya viungo, mpira wa miguu, mpira wa kikapu, kukimbia kwenye gunia, kukimbiza kuku nk. Kwa lengo la kuzindua SHIMUTA  itakayofanyika mkoani Iringa mwezi Novemba mwaka huu.Taasisi za umma zilizoshiriki ni pamoja na Bodi ya Mikopo,TBS, TPDC, TANESCO, UDSM, NEMC, CBE, IFM n.k. Bonanza hilo lilifunguliwa rasmi na Mkurugenzi wa maendeleo ya michezo Bw.Yusuph Singo kutoka Wizara ya Habari, Utamaduni, Sanaa na Michezo.

ARDHI UNIVERSITY HOSTS AN INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION PEOPLE-ENVIROMENT STUDIES (IAPS) SYMPOSIUM 2017

Ardhi University (ARU) through the Institute of Human Settlements Studies (IHSS) is hosting an International Symposium On “Knowledge for Climate-Proof Urban Development in Rapidly-Changing Environment.

The symposium was official graced by the Deputy Minister of Education Science and Technology Honorable Eng. Stella Manyanya (who was represented the Vice President of Tanzania, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan) who was welcomed by the Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University Prof. Evaristo J. Liwa.

A three days symposium which started from 27th Sept, 2017 takes place in Dar es Salaam and attended by participants from various 16 countries aimed at discussing foresight information about sustainable urban development, impacts of climate change on specific localities and better strategies for creating adequate human habitats particularly in informal settlements.

It is also designed to integrate the knowledge of a diverse groups of actors who participate the event i.e.  architects, geographers, urban planners sociologist and experts in urban studies, many come from universities, research centers and some from practitioners associated with different NGOs and CBOs from international, national development and aids agencies.

ARDHI UNIVERSITY SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH WOLRD BANK DURING THE LAUNCHING OF RAMANI HURIA 2.

The Vice Chancellor of Ardhi University Prof. Evaristo Liwa signed MoU with the World Bank on Ramani Huria 2.0 during the official launch of the project ceremony held on 26th September, 2017 at the Julius Nyerere International Convention Center.Ramani Huria 2.0 is a collaborative project between Ardhi University and the World Bank aimed at build skills and capacity to students to help map areas at -risk to natural hazard such as flooding and ultimately building a foundation for community resilience.

The project which started in 2015 has mapped 29 wards of Dar es Salaam providing detailed maps on infrastructure and potential hazards by collecting exposures information from building and drains.300 ARU students from Spatial Planning and Social Science are participating in Ramani Huria’s second phase.
